The Peguis Al-Care Treatment Centre is committed to providing the safest possible environment for those we serve. It is our priority to protect the clients and ensure their anonymity is respected, at all times.
Our guidelines have been established for this purpose and our staff are mandated to administer them. The expectation of the visitors is to respect our guidelines and boundaries, keeping in mind the purpose behind them.
The Day Program are not allowed visitors, the only exception is in the case of and emergency.
Clients are allowed visitors the following times:
Three (3) times during the eight (8) week program. The visiting days are the 2nd, 4th and 6th Sunday(s) from 1:00 p.m. – 4 p.m.
Three (3) times during the nine (9) week program. The visiting days are the 3rd, 5th and 7th Sunday(s) from 1:00 p.m. – 4 p.m.
Visitor Guidelines
- All visitors must enter by the front door entrance and sign in at the front desk in the book provided. Please do not enter by going around the outside of the building.
- PATC is equipped with video cameras throughout the building for safety reasons.
- If any visitor is intoxicated, they will not be allowed to visit and will be asked to leave the premises.
- Please note that any items brought in for the clients will be searched.
- Upon arrival, all cell phones, wallets, purses, bags and back packs must be handed in at the front desk.
- Upon arrival, all personal electronic devices – Ipods, Mp3’s, digital cameras, disposable cameras, hand held games, Ipads, etc., must be handed in at the front desk.
- All visits will be held in the dining room and session room areas only.
- If children are visiting, the client must accompany their children and visitors at all times.
- Visitors and children are not allowed in the lobby, living room areas or in the client rooms.
- All visitors will use the washrooms by the kitchen area – children must be accompanied.
- Visitors must demonstrate appropriate behavior and use appropriate language at all times.
- The smoke room is for smoking only, (18 years & older) and is not to be used as a visiting area.
- Cards, board games and puzzles are not allowed in the smoke room.
- Emergency doors (fire escapes) are not to be used, only in the event of an emergency.
- All hats, caps, sunglasses, sweater-hoods, toques, bandanas and handkerchiefs are not allowed in the building.
- No sunflower or pumpkin seeds allowed in the building.
- Energy drinks are not allowed during visits.
- No revealing clothing allowed, all visitors must dress accordingly.
- When leaving the building, all visitors must sign out in the book provided.
